Vonceil Lane

FORT MEADE - Ms. Octavia Vonceil Lane, 77, passed away in Lakeland on Sunday, June 9, 2013. Ms. Lane was born on November 1, 1935, and was a native and lifelong resident of Fort Meade. She was a retired nurse, working with the Polk County Sheriff's Office, and she also worked through the years at several area hospitals and doctors offices. Ms. Lane was one of the many people that helped start The Peace River Center in Bartow. She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald E. and Eunice Gladys Graves Hurst and her brother, Alan Hurst. Ms. Lane is survived by her son, Dewey E. Lane, Jr., Fort Meade, FL; daughter, Michelle Lane Linton and husband Chris, Fort Meade, FL; sisters, Kay Cason, Lakeland, FL; Delores Riggs, Fort Meade, FL; Judy Hansen, San Antonio, TX, Joyce Lewis, Destin, FL; grandchildren, Dakota Linton and Bryson Linton.
