FORT MEADE - Woodrow W. "Woody" Hancock, Jr., 72, passed away in Winter Haven, Florida, on March 3, 2018, after a brief and valiant battle with pancreatic cancer. He was born February 9, 1946 in Fort Meade, Florida, and lived in Arizona for over twenty-five years and returned to Florida in January.
He owned and operated a barber shop in Prescott, Arizona before retiring in 2014, and touched the lives of many people with his talents, kindness, generosity and wit.
Woody was preceded in death by his parents Woodrow W. and Maxine Russell Hancock.
He is survived by his sisters Sandra Mitchell, Karen Hancock, and his aunt, Valda Robinson.
Visitation will be held 2:30 p.m. - 3:00 p.m., Thursday, April 5, 2018 at Hancock Funeral Home, 945 E. Broadway, Fort Meade, FL. Memorial services will follow in the funeral home chapel at 3:00 p.m. with Pastor Kenny Slay officiating.
